Auld Farm Distillery Experience Booking Terms & Conditions
We look forward to welcoming you to Auld Farm Distillery in Scotts Gap, Southland.
These terms apply to experiences, tours and tastings booked directly with Auld Farm Distillery. Private group, trade and third-party bookings may have additional or different conditions as outlined below or confirmed at the time of booking.
By making a booking, you agree to the terms and conditions applicable to that booking.
1. Bookings and Payment
Bookings are subject to availability and are confirmed when you receive confirmation from Auld Farm Distillery or the booking provider through which you made your reservation.
Prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST unless otherwise stated.
The person making the booking is responsible for providing accurate booking and contact information and for making the other members of their group aware of any relevant booking conditions.
2. Standard Cancellation Policy
For our shared and standard public experiences, including Dramery guided tastings, Seed-to-Sip Experiences and shared Founders Experiences:
More than 24 hours before the scheduled start time:
Bookings may be cancelled for a full refund.
Within 24 hours of the scheduled start time:
Bookings are non-refundable.
No-show:
No refund will be provided.
We understand that travel plans sometimes change. Where possible, we will happily move a booking to another available date or time. Changes are subject to availability and should be requested as early as possible.
3. Private Experiences
Private experiences reserve a guide, time and capacity specifically for your group. Different cancellation conditions therefore apply.
For private experiences booked directly with Auld Farm Distillery:
More than 48 hours before the scheduled start time:
Bookings may be cancelled for a full refund.
Within 48 hours of the scheduled start time:
Bookings are non-refundable.
Where possible, we will work with guests to move a private booking to another available date or time rather than cancel it.
Any minimum booking charge stated for a private experience applies regardless of the final number attending.
4. Large Groups, Trade and Coach Bookings
Large group, coach, corporate, trade and special-event bookings require additional planning and may prevent us from accepting other bookings for the same period.
Cancellation, deposit and payment conditions for these bookings may therefore differ from our standard conditions and will be confirmed in writing when the booking is made.
Where specific group or trade booking conditions have been provided and accepted, those conditions take precedence over the standard cancellation periods above.
5. Bookings Through Travel Agents and Online Travel Platforms
Bookings made through an online travel agency, travel agent, reseller or other third-party booking provider may be subject to that provider's booking, amendment and cancellation conditions.
Where different cancellation or amendment conditions are clearly stated and accepted at the time of booking through that provider, those conditions will apply to that booking.
Requests to cancel or amend a third-party booking may need to be made through the provider with whom the booking was originally made.
6. Cancellation or Changes by Auld Farm Distillery
We will make every reasonable effort to deliver your experience as booked.
Occasionally circumstances beyond our control, including severe weather, illness, safety concerns, farm operations or other unforeseen events, may require us to alter, postpone or cancel an experience.
Where Auld Farm Distillery cancels an experience and a suitable alternative cannot be provided, guests will be offered another available date or a refund of the amount paid to Auld Farm Distillery for the cancelled experience.
We may make reasonable changes to the route, sequence or content of an experience where required for safety, weather, farm operations or other practical reasons, provided the overall nature of the experience remains substantially the same.
7. Minimum Participant Numbers
Some shared experiences may have minimum participant requirements.
Any applicable minimum will be stated when booking. Where an experience cannot proceed because a stated minimum has not been reached, we will contact affected guests as soon as reasonably possible and offer an alternative experience, date or time, or a refund.
8. Arrival and Late Arrivals
Please arrive at the meeting point shown on your booking confirmation at least 10 minutes before your scheduled start time.
Our experiences operate to scheduled departure times and other guests may be booked before or after your experience.
If you are running late, please contact us as soon as possible.
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate late arrivals, but we cannot guarantee that the experience can be delayed or extended. A significantly late arrival may be treated as a no-show where the experience can no longer reasonably be provided.
9. Children, Families, Dogs and Alcohol
Unless an individual experience states otherwise, families and children are welcome to participate in appropriate Auld Farm Distillery experiences.
Well-behaved owners and their dogs are welcome. As Auld Farm Distillery is located on a working farm, dogs must remain under their owner's control at all times and may need to be kept on a lead around livestock, farm operations, production areas or other guests. There may also be areas of the distillery or farm where dogs cannot accompany guests for safety, hygiene or operational reasons.
Alcohol will only be supplied in accordance with New Zealand law and our licence conditions.
Guests may be asked to provide acceptable proof of age before being served alcohol.
Non-alcoholic alternatives are available for guests who do not drink alcohol or are not legally able to participate in alcoholic tastings.
Participation in an experience does not guarantee the service of alcohol. Auld Farm Distillery reserves the right to refuse alcohol service where required by law, our licence conditions or responsible host practices.
10. Working Farm and Distillery
Auld Farm Distillery operates on a working family farm and production distillery.
Depending on the experience booked, guests may encounter farm tracks, gravel, grass, uneven surfaces, machinery, production areas and changing weather conditions.
Guests must follow reasonable instructions from Auld Farm Distillery staff and remain within designated visitor areas.
Children must remain under the supervision of their accompanying parent, guardian or responsible adult.
11. Clothing and Footwear
For experiences that extend beyond The Dramery, we recommend practical footwear and clothing suitable for a working Southland farm and the day's weather.
Specific requirements will be stated in the individual experience description where necessary.
12. Weather
Southland weather is part of life on the farm.
Experiences will generally proceed in light rain or changeable weather. We may modify outdoor components or the route where conditions require it.
If conditions make an experience unsafe or impractical and we cancel the experience, the provisions under Cancellation or Changes by Auld Farm Distillery will apply.
13. Accessibility
We want to welcome as many people as reasonably possible to Auld Farm Distillery.
Because some experiences take place across a working farm, distillery and other farm buildings, accessibility varies between experiences and parts of the property.
Guests with mobility requirements, accessibility needs or other requirements that may affect participation are encouraged to contact us before booking so we can explain the particular experience and discuss how we may be able to assist.
14. Health, Safety and Guest Conduct
The safety of our guests, staff, family, farm and working environment is important to us.
Guests must follow reasonable safety instructions provided by Auld Farm Distillery staff.
We reserve the right to refuse participation or require a person to leave an experience where their behaviour is unsafe, seriously disruptive, threatening, abusive or places themselves or others at unreasonable risk.
A refund will not normally be provided where participation is refused or ended because of a guest's conduct.
15. Experience Inclusions
Each experience includes only those items and services described in the applicable product description or booking confirmation.
Transport to and from Auld Farm Distillery, additional food or beverages, bottles, merchandise and other purchases are not included unless specifically stated.
Where a particular experience includes a bottle, tasting, welcome drink, food item or other inclusion, this will be stated in the product description.
16. Dietary Requirements and Allergies
Where food or beverages are included, please advise us of known allergies or dietary requirements when booking or as early as possible before arrival.
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate dietary requirements where possible but cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
17. Photography and Personal Belongings
Guests are generally welcome to take photographs for personal use unless advised otherwise in a particular production, operational or private area.
Guests remain responsible for their personal belongings while visiting Auld Farm Distillery.
If commercial photography, filming or organised media activity is planned, please contact us in advance.
18. Farm Operations and Biosecurity
Auld Farm Distillery is part of an operating farm. From time to time, farming activity may affect access to particular areas.
Guests must follow any reasonable farm access, hygiene or biosecurity instructions given by staff.
We reserve the right to alter the route of an experience where required by livestock movements, cropping operations, machinery, weather, biosecurity or other farm activities.
19. Liability and New Zealand Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or limit any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under New Zealand law.
To the extent permitted by law, Auld Farm Distillery is not responsible for loss arising from a guest's failure to follow reasonable safety instructions, unauthorised access to restricted areas, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
20. Contacting Us
Questions, changes or cancellations relating to a direct booking should be made using the contact details provided on your booking confirmation or through the Auld Farm Distillery website.
For bookings made through an online travel platform, reseller or travel agent, booking changes or cancellations may need to be made directly through that provider.
